Brief Profile: Adaora Onyechere

Adaora Onyechere is a Gender Advocate and researcher on gender issues, a loud voice in the advocacy for women inclusion. She served a two years term as the Head, Women Affairs & Gender Cluster Committee Africa Union ECOSOC Nigeria from 2020 – 2022, a role in which she saw to the launching of several intervention programs that sought inclusion for women across sectors.
A Nigerian Broadcast Journalist extraordinaire’ an Enigmatic, mind gripping On AIR Personality with African Independent Television AIT. Her intellectual Foray on Kaakaki The African Voice adds that deep, intuitive edge.
She is also the Producer and Presenter of AIT’s Gender Agenda Africa’s Number 1 Premium program detailing the issues from across Africa on Gender on AIT.
She went on to become the Senior Special Assistant on Information and Advocacy to Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha former Governor of Imo State.

One of the top 20 outstanding Youths and most recently chronicled by WAFA world affirmative action HONORS as amongst 100 Most Influential African Women in Nigeria and Sub Saharan Africa a meritorious recommendation by the United States Congress women board on advocacy for Gender and human rights.
She is a well sort after speech therapist and Speech training expert after overcoming a speech defect her self while growing up, a two time toastmasters’ international champion. Sign Language PDF 1 certified and a body language communication expert. In her portfolio she has tutored more than a few important personalities on speech training which included Her Excellency Attah Mills, The Governors Wives Forum Nigeria, United Nations Youth Association Speech Workshop, The Women Community in Africa Forum Self Development workshop, Hon. Ministers amongst others.
Won the Best Act for Television Presenting and Creative Arts on Fresh Acts in London in 2004, With outstanding experience in both television and radio production in Both the United Kingdom and in Nigeria.
She is The Vice President of The Apo Hills Diamond An Ivy League branch of toastmasters international , A member of the board of the I am Nigeria , Leadership for Africa ,The Not too Young to run amongst many others..
With also a background in English and Broadcasting, Creative writing and Project Management, Adaora is the Cordinator of Deep Talk a Mentoring Group which reaches out to young women between the ages of 15 – 35.
Adaora is the Initiator and Founder of Yellow Jerrycan Save a Child Foundation a platform advocating for the rights of IDPS, under this she initiated “ For Love Sake teaching project at the IDP camp Durumi and a project called My Body My Right a training program at the IDP camp in Durumi.
She was also the NOA mission Peace Envoy To East and West Africa and one of the growing laudable Voice And pro existing voice on Gender In Nigeria and in Africa.
Her passion for supporting the women around her moved her into starting the WEWE Network Afrique, WEWE, an acronym for Women Enabling Women Everywhere, is a Pan-African Media, Branding and communications outfit which supports mainstreaming women in different sectors using mainstream media.
She is the Executive Director Gender Strategy Advancement International (GSAI), a leading NGO in Nigeria on gender inclusion advocacy & research, She is also the Chairperson ElectHer Agenda35 Advisory Council Founded By Ibijoke Faborode
ElectHER is on of the largest Pan-African organization championing Women Political Inclusion in Nigeria and United Nations Peace Ambassador.
Not long ago, she was honoured at the 2022 International Women Power Conference Africa award in the category of 20 Most Influential Women in Media.
